Home Defined.
/What is Home?
When working with clients, we talk a lot about finding a home. It’s not about finding a house. Houses are everywhere, but a home, a home is a bit more unique. So what is the definition of “The Perfect Home”? That is a great question as this means something different to everyone.
Do you find that you walk into some homes and they instantly feel welcoming, not because of the décor, there’s something else. The space feels authentic, a genuine reflection of the person or family who lives there. It just feels real, comfortable, and inviting.
Home isn’t just a place it is a feeling. A sense of security, warmth, comfort, relaxation, and acceptance. Sometimes it is a yard, a kitchen, the perfect basement, an ideal family room, a cozy retreat, a turnkey home, a fixer upper, a big garage, lots of storage, a dining room for a large gathering, or a cozy studio.
The feeling of being "at home" can't be bought no matter how much you spend on furnishings. We all put a lot of stress on how our homes looks, but what is the most important is how it make us feel, emotionally and physically. A home should invite you in and swaddle you. A Home should take us away from troubles, stress, and displeasure and provide us with a sense of serenity.
There should be no better feeling than that feeling of being home.
